Flight Deal Finder

A prototype exploring a more personalised way to discover attractive flight options using flexible dates, travel preferences, price tracking and a clear watchlist dashboard.

Project overview

Flight Deal Finder is an iPhone-first prototype designed to help travellers compare flight options based on more than price alone.

The concept combines flexible travel dates with preferences such as airline, cabin class, number of stops, departure and arrival times, baggage requirements, fare flexibility and a target budget.

Current status

Product prototype and technical evaluation. Live flight-data providers are currently being assessed. The project is not operating as a booking service at this stage.

How flight data would be used

The prototype is intended to use indicative flight pricing for broad flexible-date discovery and live pricing only after the user has narrowed the search to specific travel dates and itineraries.

If a user selects a flight option, the intended experience is to direct the traveller to the relevant booking provider using the available deeplink, rather than issuing the ticket inside the prototype.

Purpose

The purpose of this project is product exploration, technical evaluation and user-experience testing. We are currently assessing whether external flight-data APIs are a suitable fit for the prototype.
